Due to our small size, the pastor will need to be bi-vocational. We provide a nice 2 bedroom, 2 baths, with laundry room mobile home. Also a storage shed. The home has two car carport and chain link fence around the complete property. (The mobile home has its own yard fenced within the church yard fence. We will also provide all of the utilities, (water, gas, electric, phone & basic internet service).

Position: Settlement Worker
Micah House is a Christian-based not-for-profit organization providing housing and settlement support for newly arrived refugees and refugee claimants in Hamilton. We are solely funded by local churches and individual donors committed to the core vales of Micah House.
Time Commitment:
This is a part-time position (20 hours/week ). Ideally the successful candidate is available 4 hours per day Monday – Friday. Some weekend shifts may be required.

Objective: Help newly arrived refugees to be welcomed, orientated and well settled in Hamilton.

• Coordinate initial resident follow-up upon moving out from Micah House

The person called to this ministry must be in agreement with Northview’s confession of faith, mission, vision and core values and must have a passion for the ministry of the church. The incumbent must also have the qualifications of an Elder, as outlined in I Timothy 3.
PRIMARY FOCI
The Pastor of Young Adults:
Will be responsible for the development of a comprehensive ministry to impact post-secondary young adults and young married couples.
Will be responsible for the coordination and facilitation of our pre-marital ministry.
3. Will interface with all other Pastors and staff ministry team members and other teams of the church as required.
MINISTRY RESPONSIBILITIES
GENERAL YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY LEADERSHIP
a. On-going evaluation of present ministries and programs.
b. Implementing change based on on-going evaluation.
c. Facilitating the development of strategic initiatives for new ministry directions.
d. Development of the annual ministry plan and budget with the senior leadership team.
e. Oversight of the paid staff and volunteers in the department.
f. Recruitment, development, and encouragement of Life Groups and Pastorates for young adults and young marrieds.
g. The availability for crisis, referral, and spiritual counseling to those in this age group.
INXTREME MINISTRY (Ages 18-25)
a. The coordination of a comprehensive ministry with direct leadership and supervision of all activities related to InXtreme. This will include:
· Weekly social, worship and spiritual development
· Special events: social, recreational, service and evangelistic
b. Speaking and teaching to the group or the coordination of guests or other methods of Biblical challenge and teaching.
c. The recruitment, development, and encouragement of lay adult staff to carry out the ministry of one to one care and support.
d. The recruitment, development, and encouragement of a leadership team from within the group to plan and implement the program.
e. Oversight of the worship component of the ministry.
f. The organization and leading of weekend retreats, designed for extensive spiritual impact and group cohesiveness.
g. Regular visits and speaking where possible at the local college campuses.
h. Coordination and facilitation of several mission trips annually.
i. Discern spiritual gifts in young adults and provide opportunities for them to serve in the church and community.
PRE-MARITAL MINISTRY
a. Coordination and facilitation of pre-marital ministry.
b. Recruitment, development, and encouragement of “marriage mentors”.
YOUNG MARRIEDS
a. Coordination of special events for young marrieds.
b. The recruitment, development, and encouragement of a leadership team to plan and implement the ministry.

OTHER PASTORAL DUTIES: To pastor and lead our congregation by:
a. Preaching, teaching & speaking as requested by the Senior Pastor.
b. Attending Board & Commission meetings as requested.
c. Attending Pastoral and staff meetings as required.
d. Other pastoral duties such as counseling, weddings, funerals, visitations etc as required.
e. Any other duties that may be required from time to time.
STATEMENT OF RELATIONSHIPS
The Pastor of Young Adults reports directly to the Executive Pastor, and is a Ministry Team Leader to Young Adults. As a Ministry Team Leader they will oversee the InXtreme (College & Careers Ministry) and Young Marrieds Ministry within our congregation and community.
While the Pastor of Young Adults provides direct oversight to the InXtreme and Young Marrieds ministries, it is expected that they will work collaboratively with the other Ministry Team Leaders within the leadership matrix of the church eg. Pastor of High School Ministries. Furthermore, the Pastor of Young Adults must seek to carry out ministry in the context of the mission, vision and values Northview. The God Worshipping, Life Constructing, Seeker Engaging, Globally Impacting and Administration (vision) departments provide expertise, vision and resources to the Ministry Team Leaders, and are responsible to ensure that the mission and vision of the church are successfully implemented in the context of Northview’s philosophy of ministry.
QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate degree related to field of studies in church ministries (desirable).
Experience in pastoral ministry and the areas of strategic planning and implementation.
Skills in personnel management and team development flowing from a pastoral heart.
Demonstrated preaching & teaching abilities in large & small groups.
Agreement with Northview’s confession of faith and philosophy of ministry.
Has a reputation of living a lifestyle that honors and uplifts the name of Christ.

Responsibilities
